Attorney Profiles

Dr. Cohen grew up in New York City, attending Stuyvesant High School, Columbia College and Cornell Medical School. He took a medical Internship at the University of Washington, a medical Residency at Harvard, at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, and a chief Medical Residency at Brown University, at Roger Williams Hospital. He then took a specialty fellowship in Gastroenterology in the University of California, San Francisco program, and went into medical practice in 1975. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology, and practiced in those fields for more than twelve years.  In 1987, Dr. Cohen left medical practice for Harvard Law School, where he and Dr. Rudd met and became friends. After graduation in 1990, he returned to California and began his full time practice of plaintiff's medical malpractice law. He and Dr. Rudd joined to form Cohen & Rudd in 1996.Dr. Cohen lives with his wife, Jessica, an MFCC, in Pasadena. Their daughter, Jennifer, is an Emergency medicine physician. Their son, Mike, has recently completed his MBA.
