Dr. Arlan A. Cohen's medical background includes an education at the prestigious Cornell Medical School. Following various internships and residencies, including a medical residency at Harvard, he went into medical practice in 1975. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology. He practiced in those fields for more than twelve years. Dr. Cohen left medical practice for Harvard Law School in 1987. After graduation in 1990, he began his full time practice of medical malpractice law.

Dr. Lawrence Rudd followed a similar path. He graduated from the highly respected University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine in 1976. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine and became board certified. Dr. Rudd remained a practicing physician while he attended Harvard Law School, from which he graduated in 1990. Even when he began practicing law in 1991, he continued his medical career. For six years, he carefully balanced careers in both law and medicine before devoting himself strictly to the practice of medical malpractice law in 1997.
